Vacuum Cleaner Reviews Archives

Either it’s time to upgrade your old robot vacuum, or you’re getting your first one and you want it to be the best on the market. Either way, before you invest your hard-earned money, you need to know the details so you can make the best decision. Let’s take a closer look at these two Roombas to see which is ideal for cleaning your home.

iRobot Roomba 690 Wi-Fi Connected Robotic Vacuum Cleaner, Works with Amazon Alexa

iRobot Roomba 690

iRobot Roomba 690

The age of voice control has arrived. The iRobot Roomba 690 can respond to voice commands if you have it linked to your home Wi-Fi network. All you need to interface with it is Amazon’s Alexa or the Google Home Assistant.

Once you’ve connected the Roomba to your network, you can tell it to start cleaning, stop, or go back to recharge at its dock. If you install the iRobot Home app on your smartphone or tablet, you can use it to set up cleaning schedule for the robot. The app will also notify you when a cleaning job is complete even if you aren’t at home.

Although the Roomba 690 can work for up to an hour before needing a recharge, you don’t need to worry about the battery dying when the robot is under the bed. The Roomba knows when it’s time for a refill and it directs itself back to the charging base.

The 690 is only 3.6-inches tall, so it fits underneath sofas, chairs, and other furniture to clean where an upright vacuum can’t easily reach. Its 3-stage cleaning system combines agitating brushes and suction to sweep up dirt from hard floors and carpets. The spinning side brush even cleans in corners and alongside walls.

Should you have a place where you don’t want the robot to clean, you can use the included Virtual Wall Barrier in one of two ways. The Virtual Wall can block a doorway or it can create a circular barrier around objects like pet food bowls.

More features of the iRobot Roomba 690:

  • Covered by warranty when purchased from an authorized reseller
  • Comes with home base charging station, power cord, one extra filter, one cleaning tool for the brushes, one dual mode Virtual Wall Barrier with two AA batteries, and an owner’s guide

iRobot Roomba 980 Vacuum Cleaning Robot + 2 Dual Mode Virtual Wall Barriers (With Batteries) + Extra Side Brush + Extra High Efficiency Filter + More

iRobot Roomba 980

iRobot Roomba 980

Why would you consider getting the Roomba 980 instead of the 690? If you have allergies, you may appreciate the extra high efficiency filter and ten times the cleaning power of the 980. Or if you have a larger home, you may like that it comes with two Virtual Wall Barriers instead of only one. Or perhaps most importantly, the battery on the 980 lasts twice as long as the one on the 690, up to two hours of cleaning time.

Of course, you’ll also have the ability to use the iRobot Home app on your smartphone to schedule cleaning runs. The app will tell you the status of the current job, or let you know when the robot is done.

If the Roomba’s battery is getting low, it will automatically return to its home base to recharge. If it hasn’t finished the cleaning session, it will return to work as soon as the battery is full again.

If you have stairs, you don’t need to worry. The 980 has a cliff sensor to keep it from falling off edges. And its iAdapt 2.0 Responsive Navigation helps it create an efficient cleaning pattern around obstacles in your home.

The AeroForce Cleaning System in the Roomba 980 cleans dust and debris from any floor type, from linoleum and tile to carpet. In fact, it amps up its suction power on carpet to make sure it sucks up dirt. If you have persons with long hair living in your home, you’ll appreciate the tangle free extractors in the 980. This innovation helps prevent jams caused by hair and dirt.

More features of the iRobot Roomba 980:

  • Covered by warranty when purchased from an authorized reseller
  • Comes with a high efficiency filter, two Dual Mode Virtual Wall Barriers with batteries, an extra side brush, a charging dock, and an owner’s manual

If you have a large home, or you’re upgrading from an older Roomba, you’ll appreciate the extra accessories that come with the Roomba 980. You’ll also love the two-hour runtime, double that of the 690. Plus, it has a high-efficiency filter, better for homes where persons with allergies live.

Otherwise, if you have never enjoyed a robotic vacuum helping you clean your home, you may fall in love with the convenience that the Roomba 690 offers.

iRobot Roomba 650 Robotic Vacuum Cleaner, Black

iRobot Roomba 650

iRobot Roomba 650

Although the iRobot Roomba 650 has been around for a few years, it’s still very popular. There are a number of reasons for that. One of those reasons is the option to schedule up to seven cleanings per week. You can program that right on the robot itself.

Another top feature is the 650’s ability to automatically return to its home base when the battery charge is getting low. That means you shouldn’t have to dig your robot out from under the bed when the battery is dead.

The 650 cleans well on all floor types, from hardwood to tile to linoleum to carpet. It works up to 60 minutes once you press the “clean” button or it begins its scheduled cleaning. You can also set it to spot clean a spill.

This little robot combines the power of suction with agitation from its brushes to sweep up debris into its dust bin. The only work you’ll have to do is empty the bin, check the filters, and occasionally clean the brushes. Of course, if you tend to have a lot of long hairs on your floors, the brush cleaning needs to be a regular task.

Since the robot vacuum is only 3.6 inches tall, it can clean underneath beds and other furniture. Its sensors keeps it from falling down stairs. And its iAdapt Responsive Navigation helps it map the most efficient route through your home.

One last feature is very convenient if you want to keep the Roomba confined to certain rooms without closing a door. The 650 comes is compatible with Virtual Wall Technology that creates an invisible barrier. Just set the wall modules on the floor and turn them on to block entry.

iRobot Roomba 860 Vacuum Cleaning Robot + Dual Mode Virtual Wall Barrier (With Batteries) + Extra High Efficiency Filter

iRobot Roomba 860

iRobot Roomba 860

If the Roomba 650 looks like a great little helper for your housecleaning, but you have allergies, you may appreciate the Roomba 860 instead. It comes with a HEPA filter and superior suction power. The stronger suction comes from the new AeroForce Performance Cleaning System that increases air flow. As a result, not only do you get a better clean, you need to do less maintenance on the filters and brushes.

Also new on the Roomba 860 is the Dirt Detect Series II Technology. This combines both optical and acoustic sensors to tell the robot when it needs to focus on cleaning a tough spot.

Besides these improvements, the 860 has the typical Roomba features like scheduling for up to seven cleanings per week as well as the ability to return to home base to recharge. The iAdapt Responsive Navigation Technology improves the robot’s cleaning efficiency by helping it move along walls and around obstacles without simply bumping along blindly.

Since it’s only 3.6 inches tall, the Roomba 860 can clean underneath furniture in areas where it would be hard for an upright vacuum to reach. Its spinning side brush sweeps up debris from corners and alongside walls. And the battery will last up to three times longer than the one in the Roomba 650.

Finally, the Dual Mode Virtual Wall Barrier included with the Roomba 860 can be used in two different ways. The Virtual Wall Mode simply erects an invisible barrier that the robot won’t cross. Then the Halo Mode creates a circular barrier around objects like pet food bowls so the robot won’t bump into them.

More features of the iRobot Roomba 650:

  • Covered by warranty when purchased from authorized reseller

The iRobot Roomba 650 would be a handy helper in most homes since it can be scheduled for unsupervised cleaning sessions up to 7 times per week.

But the Roomba 860 might be a better choice for homes where people suffer from allergies since it has a better filter and a more powerful suction system.

No one wants to spend all day cleaning. As much as you might enjoy vacuuming, it’s better to have one that gets the job done quickly and efficiently. But which vacuum is best for your home? Let’s take a look at two popular models and compare their features now.

BISSELL 9595A CleanView Bagless Vacuum with OnePass

The Bissell 9595A has been a top-selling vacuum for a number of reasons. For one, at 15.1 pounds, it’s rather lightweight. It has a 25-foot long power cord so you’re not always searching for an outlet or an extension. Plus, it comes with an extension wand, a TurboBrush, a crevice tool, and a dusting brush. You may find that it’s a lot easier to keep the house clean now.

The TurboBrush, for example, is ideal for sucking crumbs out of sofas and cat hair off of stairs because it combines suction with an agitating brush. It also works well on car interiors. Meanwhile, the dusting brush will help you keep lamp shades and curtains free of dust. And if you need to clear cobwebs from the ceiling or dust bunnies from under the bed, the extension wand will come in handy.

The only complaint about usability of this vacuum is the location of the power switch. Persons with difficulty bending over may find it hard to flip the power switch located midway down the body of the vacuum.

Some owners love the Bissell 9595A for more than the accessories. They like the powerful suction and brush actionof itsOnePass Technology. This means a single pass of the vacuum should remove most surface debris.

Meanwhile, the Bissell Multi-Cyclonic System separates larger debris from dust. This keeps the filters cleaner for longer. But when the filters do need attention, the foam tank filter is washable, and that saves money.

The dirt tank itself is quite large and simple to empty in seconds. Just click the lever, lift out the tank, empty it, and click the empty tank back into place. If you’re concerned about the typical vacuum cleaner odor that develops over time, try using one of the Febreze Post Motor Filters. They are compatible with the 9595A.

More features of the Bissell 9595A bagless vacuum:

  • Covered by a limited 2-year warranty

Hoover T-Series WindTunnel Rewind Plus Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner UH70120

Hoover T-Series WindTunnel Rewind Plus Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner UH70120

Hoover T-Series WindTunnel Rewind Plus Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner UH70120

Should you happen to have allergies, you may prefer Hoover’s UH70120 bagless upright vacuum cleaner. The main reason for that is it has a HEPA filter. The filter has an indicator that tells you when you need to clean or check it. It’s not a washable filter, so you’ll need to replace it on occasion.

Although this vacuum is a little heavier than the Bissell, the Hoover has a 25-foot-long retractable power cord so you don’t waste time winding it after each use. It comes with a collection of accessories like a crevice tool, a turbo tool, an extension wand, and a dusting brush. The turbo tool combines suction with an agitating brush similar to Bissell’s TurboBrush. This is handy for cleaning stairs, car interiors, and furniture. And you can attach the tools to the 8-foot-long stretch hose and extension wand to reach air vents or lamp shades up high.

If you have a variety of carpets and flooring, the Hoover UH70120 has 5 carpet height adjustments to help you get the best clean possible. Its WindTunnel Technology makes it so you don’t waste time repeating passes over the same stretch in order to remove surface debris.

More features of the Hoover UH70120 bagless vacuum:

  • Covered by a limited 2-year warranty
  • Weighs less than 17 pounds

These two vacuums are pretty similar in power and accessories. One way to make your choice easier is to consider whether you want a HEPA filter to keep allergens under control. The Hoover UH70120 has this feature. It also has a retractable power cord and easy to reach power button in the handle for convenience.

On the other hand, you may prefer the vacuum that weighs less, and that would be the Bissell 9595A. The Bissell has a washable tank filter and it is compatible with air freshener filters as well.

Ever since the original robot vacuums appeared on the market, many companies have been innovating their own versions. With so many brands of robotic vacuums on sale, how can you tell which one is the best? We’ll review these two popular brands to see which one is perfect for your home cleaning needs.

Eufy RoboVac 11, High Suction, Self-Charging Robotic Vacuum Cleaner with Drop-Sensing Technology and HEPA Style Filter for Pet Fur and Allergens, Designed for Hard Floor and Thin Carpet

Eufy RoboVac 11

Eufy RoboVac 11

The Eufy RoboVac 11 is a recent arrival on the scene. At the time of writing, it wasn’t possible to purchase a replacement battery for it, but there are refills to replace brushes and filters. The built-in lithium-ion battery is made to work up to 1 hour 30 minutes before needing a recharge.

The low profile design is only 3.1 inches tall, slim enough to sweep up dust bunnies from under furniture with its side-mounted and underside brushes. In fact, Eufy says the 1000Pa suction is strong enough to suck up small screws as well as dust and crumbs. But while this robot does well on hard floors and low pile carpet, it will struggle on thick rugs. The company also warns that the vacuum isn’t designed to run on very dark-colored floors, but they don’t explain why.

You can set the RoboVac down and let it start cleaning on its own. It has an infrared sensor to help it avoid obstacles like walls, plus a drop sensor so it won’t take a tumble down the stairs. When it runs out of juice, it heads back to base to refill the battery.

If you want to control the robot to spot clean a spill, simply use the remote control that comes with it. Drive the robot to the area you want to sweep, then hit the Spot function. The remote also lets you control the Edge and Max cleaning functions to focus on hard to clean areas.

Finally, the RoboVac 11 comes with a HEPA-style filter that removes dust mites, pet dander, and mold from the air it expels behind it. This is very convenient for allergy sufferers that might suffer when using an ordinary vacuum.

More features of the Eufy Robovac:

  • Covered by a 12-month warranty
  • Batteries for the remote are not included in the box
  • Comes with base and AC adapter, cleaning tool for brushes, HEPA-style filter, 4 side brushes, plus owner’s manual

ILIFE A6 Robotic Vacuum Cleaner, Piano Black

iLife has been in the robot vacuum business a little longer. The iLife A6 contains their second generation CyclonePower system for enhanced cleaning over older models. This three stage system keeps the filter cleaner for longer so you have to clean it less. But the 1000Pa suction power on this vacuum is about the same as the Eufy RoboVac 11.

Still, while most robot vacuums can’t match the power of an upright vacuum cleaner, these little helpers keep floors clear of crumbs, dust, and hairs. The iLife A6 is made to run as often as you need, even daily, to maintain your home. While you’ll need to spend a little time emptying its dust bin and cleaning the brushes and filters, it’s less time that you’d spend vacuuming. And the main brush on the A6 is made to resist tangling, which makes cleanup that much easier.

Plus, the battery on the iLifeA6 lasts much longer, up to 160 minutes or almost 3 hours of cleaning time. Even better, the remote lets you set a schedule, not just drive the robot around. You may be able to clean your whole home on one charge.

Or if you use the Electrowall barrier, you can confine the vacuum to one room in your home. But just like the Eufy RoboVac, the iLife A6 prefers to work on hard floors and low pile carpet. And it has a slimmer profile at only 2.8 inches tall.

More features of the iLife A6 Robotic Vacuum Cleaner:

  • May be covered by warranty—confirm at the time of purchase

Both the Eufy Robovac 11 and the iLife A6 are somewhat similar in suction power. But the A6 has almost double the battery life on a single change. Plus, its remote allows you to set up a cleaning schedule. While it doesn’t come with a HEPA-style filter like the Robovac 11, you can purchase one separately. All things compared, it may be worth your while to get the A6.

Unlike many circular robot vacuums, the Neato Botvacs are shaped like a capital letter “D.” This may make them the best at cleaning inside corners. Let’s take a closer look at both the Botvac D5 and D3 to see which is the better fit for your home.

Neato Botvac D5 Connected Navigating Robot Vacuum – Pet & Allergy

Neato Botvac D5

Neato Botvac D5

One of the main advantages of both the Botvac D5 and D3 is the Neato app. This app, which you can install on your phone or tablet, lets you schedule the robot vacuum’s work, stop it, start it, locate it, and even get notifications when it’s done. You don’t even need to be at home to manage your vacuuming.

Even nicer, the Neato Botvac D5 is compatible with voice control through Google Home Assistant and Amazon’s Alexa. You can give it a verbal command to stop or start its cleaning.

While the D5 is sweeping your floors, it uses laser navigation to make a smart map of your home. This way it cleans in the most efficient pattern possible, which extends battery life. If it runs out of a charge while it still has more work to complete, it will go back to base on its own. Once the battery is full again, the D5 Botvac heads out to finish its mission.

One charge of its high capacity lithium-ion battery will allow the D5 to sweep up to 4500 square feet in the course of three cleaning runs of 90 minutes each. And the D5 is especially designed to handle pet fur and help in home where the owners have allergies.

It comes with an extra large dust bin, a combo brush on the bottom, a side brush, and an ultra performance filter. This filter captures particles as small as 0.3 microns, and that includes mold spores and pet dander.

More features of the Neato Botvac D5 robot vacuum:

  • Comes with cleaning tool for brushes and filter, magnetic strip boundary markers to limit movement, a charge base and power cord, plus brushes and filter
  • Battery comes with a 6-month limited warranty
  • Now compatible with some smartwatches

Neato Botvac D3 Wi-Fi Connected Laser Navigating Robot Vacuum

Neato Botvac D3

Neato Botvac D3

Like the Botvac D5, the D3 is also compatible with the Neato app for your smartphone. If you wish to use voice control to send it off to work, all you need is Amazon’s Alexa or Google Home Assistant. Or, just like the D5, simply press the button on the robot itself. It will begin to clean your floors immediately.

The lithium-ion battery in the vacuum lets it work up to 180 minutes, or three cleaning runs of 60 minutes each, before it needs a recharge. When the charge runs down, the D3 automatically returns to its charge base for a refill.

While the D3 robotic vacuum is working, it maps the most efficient cleaning path to save battery life. If you aren’t home, the Neato app can notify you when the robot finishes or where it’s cleaning as long as it’s connected to your home’s Wi-Fi.

Of course, although the robot sweeps your hard floors and carpet, you’ll still need to do a little maintenance on the vacuum. This means emptying the dust bin and cleaning the brush underneath. You can shake or blow the dust out of the filter, but for best results, plan on replacing it once every couple of months.

More features of the Neato Botvac D3 connected robot vacuum:

  • Comes with combo brush only, standard filter, charge base and power cord
  • No side brush on this model
  • Now compatible with some smartwatches

If you have persons in your home that suffer with allergies, the Neato Botvac D5 is a better choice. Its ultra performance filter traps pet dander and mold spores. Its long-life battery is ideal for larger homes and frequent cleaning runs. Plus, it uses a side brush to sweep up dust and crumbs alongside walls. And all of these features come with the advantage of control over the Internet so you can send it to work while you’re away from home.

If you want a Wi-Fi connected robotic vacuum that will help you maintain your floors, and you aren’t concerned about pet fur and don’t have a large home, the D3 may be all you need.

Sometimes you just want to clean up a little spill. If you have children or pets or high-traffic zones that stain easily, you may be very well acquainted with this desire. Instead of pulling out the carpet cleaner to freshen up a small area, try one of these portable spot cleaners. Let’s take a look at them both to see which is the best for you.

Bissell 3624 SpotClean Professional Portable Carpet Cleaner, Corded

Bissell 3624

Bissell 3624

The Bissell 3624 SpotClean Pro is not a steam cleaner, but it’s great at scrubbing out stains from car upholstery, furniture, and carpeted stairs. All you need is cleaning solution and hot water. Actually, all you need is water—Bissell includes an 8-ounce

bottle of their Professional Deep Cleaning formula in the box. The clean water tank holds ¾-gallon so you don’t have to refill it in the middle of your task.

Choose either the 6-inch stair tool or the 3-inch tough stain tool and attach it tothe flexible hose. The large carrying handle and the 22-foot long power cord make it possible to move this 17-pound portable cleaner where you need it most. Plus, it measures just 10 by 14 by 14 inches so it’s very compact.

The SpotClean Pro injects the cleaner into the carpet or fabric you’re cleaning, then suctions it out to lift up debris and dirt. Once you’re done, just empty the tanks. The recovery tank where the dirty water collects is easy to clean.

More features of the Bissell 3624 SpotClean Pro:

  • Bissell offers a 2-year warranty

Rug Doctor Portable Spot Cleaner Machine, Corded

Rug Doctor Portable Spot Cleaner Machine

Rug Doctor Portable Spot Cleaner Machine

Many of us have used a Rug Doctor before. They make carpet steam cleaners that many stores rent out for home use. Now you can have the same convenience in a portable size for spot cleaning.

The Rug Doctor Portable differs from the Bissell 3624 in a few key ways. One, it has a motorized brush that scrubs tough stains for you. Two, you can turn off the motor to the brush if you’re scrubbing something delicate. And three, it has wheels, and that fact alone makes this 20-pound cleaner truly portable.

Besides the wheels, there is a retractable handle on top of the Rug Doctor. It’s also designed to fit on a step without hanging over. Although the cleaning solution and recovery tanks are only ½-gallon, smaller than the ones on the Bissell, they are easy to remove and clean.

At 5-1/2-feet, the flexible hose on the Rug Doctor is longer than the one on the Bissell. And while the power cord, at 15.09-feet, is shorter, it’s retractable for neat storage.

There’s only one thing to keep in mind with both the Rug Doctor and the Bissell 3624. They both make quite a bit of noise when they’re working because of their powerful vacuum motors.

More features of the Rug Doctor Portable Spot Cleaner Machine:

  • Comes with a two-year warranty
  • Comes with a trial size bottle of cleaning solution
  • Splashproof–rated for outdoor use as well as indoor cleaning

Sometimes we make choices based on price, but sometimes there’s not enough of a difference to help us decide. Who knew that a portable spot cleaner could be so hard to select? But let’s review the things that make these two models different from each other.

The Bissell 3624 has a shorter flexible hose, but a longer power cord. It doesn’t have wheels but it’s lighter and more compact than the Rug Doctor. It comes with two attachments but neither of those is motorized. The water tanks are .25-gallon larger. If those seem like features suited for your needs, get this portable spot cleaner.

The Rug Doctor is splashproof so you can use it outdoors to clean your car’s upholstery or deck furniture. It has a 5.5-foot long hose with a motorized brush tip, but you don’t need to use the motor to scrub if you don’t want to on delicate fabrics. While this machine is heavier, it comes with a retractable handle and wheels so you can roll it like a dolly. The water tanks are smaller so they weigh less when full. This makes the Rug Doctor especially nice for folks with some mobility impairment.

Raking leaves and clearing branches can be back-breaking work. What if you could blow all that debris away, vacuum it up, and quickly mulch it with just one tool? Black & Decker has the solution for you. These two hand-held electric blower/vacuums are versatile and powerful. Let’s look at them both and see which one will be best for you.

Black & Decker BV5600

Black & Decker BV5600

Black & Decker BV6600

Black & Decker BV6600

Black & Decker BV5600 High Performance Blower/Vac/Mulcher

Let’s start with the BV5600. If you need to clear matted-down leaves or remove pine needles in between rocks, it can do that with ease. It blows out air at a top speed of 250mph. The lower speed setting is fixed at 180mph, a bit gentler so you don’t uproot the flower beds. Choose between the two speeds with the turn of a dial. (If you would prefer more speed control than just high or low, look at the BV6600 below.)

If you want to vacuum debris, it only takes a few seconds to pull off the blower tube and pop on the vacuum tube and collector bag. No tools are needed. The BV5600 automatically mulches as it vacuums, grinding leaves and grass clippings into smaller bits. The collector bag can hold up to 1.5 bushels, or about 20 pounds of grass. Since the BV5600 itself weighs about 8 pounds, it gets pretty heavy while vacuuming. Black & Decker says that the suction power decreases as the bag fills, so if it’s not working as well, empty it.

The body of the blower has two handles for better control. There is a cord retainer to hold the extension cord firmly in place so it doesn’t come unplugged unexpectedly. The 12Amp motor isn’t terribly noisy—just a little louder than two people talking on the street.

More features of the Black & Decker BV5600

  • Mulch ratio of 16:1, meaning debris that would fill 16 bags fits into just one
  • Comes with vacuum and blower tubes, nozzle and concentrator to tightly focus air discharge, and reusable collector bag
  • Reusable collector bag is hand-washable
  • 2-year limited warranty

Black & Decker BV6600 High Performance Blower/Vac/Mulcher

The Black & Decker BV6600 is similar to the BV5600 above but with a few handy differences. For one, the speed selector is variable. It ranges between a relatively gentle 140mph up to the maximum of 250mph. Instead of choosing just the high or the low speed, the user raises or lowers the speed gradually by turning a dial.

A second difference is in the attachments. The BV6600 comes with a narrow rake attachment for the vacuum tube, and a disposable collector bag instead of only a reusable one. The disposable bags that Black & Decker sells are made of Polyactic acid, cotton, and hemp, so they are 100% biodegradable and compostable.

The third difference is the detachable shoulder strap and cushioned rear handle which make the BV6600 more comfortable to use. This blower/vacuum weighs 8.1 pounds, the same as the other described above. That means it starts getting pretty heavy while vacuuming, so the shoulder strap is a welcome addition. The bag can hold up to 1.5 bushels, or about 20 pounds of grass clippings, and it mulches while it vacuums. Black & Decker says the mulching works at a ratio of 16:1, so it fills the collector bag just once instead of needing 16 bags. If the suction seems to be getting weaker, empty the bag.

The 12Amp motor runs at about 68dB(A), or a little louder than a normal conversation on the street. This is about average for leaf blowers in this class.

Finally, the BV6600 has a 12Amp motor like the other model above. Black & Decker recommends using not more than 150 feet of extension cord because of the current needed to operate it. To keep the cord from coming unplugged, use the built-in cord retainer on the blower.

More features of the Black & Decker BV6600

  • Comes with vacuum and blower tubes, nozzle and concentrator to tightly focus air discharge, rake attachment, shoulder strap, and collector bags (disposable and reusable)
  • Reusable collector bag can be washed by hand
  • 2-year limited warranty

Both of these blower/vacuums make yard work much easier for homeowners, and they are not as noisy or messy as gas-powered blowers. They need little maintenance. Choosing between these two models comes down to two criteria: air speed and accessories.

The BV5600 is just the basics. It has only two speeds: high and low. There are no extra attachments or accessories beyond what it needs to operate. If you want a powerful hand-held blower that vacuums and mulches and you don’t need the extras, get this model.

The BV6600 comes with a variable speed selector dial that ranges between 140 and 250mph. If you have flower beds and other delicate areas where you need to blow away debris, this model would be the better choice. It comes with a shoulder strap for comfort and a rake attachment to make vacuuming easier.

  5. As an added feature, the Dyson DC59 vacuum cleaner comes with a docking station that can be mounted on a wall. The docking station is screwed neatly to the wall and the gadget is mounted for battery charging and storage purposes.

Advantages of the Dyson DC59 Cleaner

  1. Due to its light feature, the DC59 vacuum cleaner can be handled easily, even to the extent of using just one hand during cleaning.
  2. Its long arm attachment makes it possible for one to reach out and clean very tight corners, nooks and crannies.
  3. The innovation of the power trigger of the DC59, makes it possible for one to preserve the battery life of the gadget. In other words, holding down the trigger while cleaning, enables one to clean only when necessary, considering the fact that the DC59 has just about 20 minutes battery life. For this reason alone, one can actually do a couple of full sweeps on an averagely sized 2-bedroom house with more than enough battery power and a little more to spare.
  4. Due to its unique attachments, the Dyson DC59 can be used as a hand held vacuum cleaner for cleaning car interiors and other compact areas. It can also be used as a standard vacuum cleaner for regular home cleaning.

Disadvantages of the Dyson DC59 Cleaner

  1. As much as the Dyson DC59 is a great vacuum cleaner, its 20 minutes battery life would definitely not do justice to cleaning a large family house.
  2. It’s obvious that not much thought was given to the material used in making the motorized cleaning head of the Dyson DC59, as continuous use usually leaves the head with scuff marks and little blemishes. These marks and blemishes give room for one to question the durability of the motorized cleaning head of the vacuum cleaner. With such a price tag on the DC59, we expect a lot more ruggedness.
  3. The DC59 comes with just 0.4litre dust capacity, a capacity that doesn’t encourage a large scale house cleaning.

The Dyson DC59, considering all that has been said, is without a doubt the appropriate cleaning gadget for cleaning flats, apartments. However, if one was to clean a large family house, the DC59 should gently be put into storage and a bigger vacuum cleaner considered as the better option.

It’s able to do that because the Roomba can be scheduled to clean on its own and can come back to the charging base once it wants a recharge. The Roomba 780 may be a minor upgrade of the iRobot 770 and claims to get rid of 98 of dirt on every kind of surfaces. Spec-wise, it isn’t any different from the Roomba 770 that I’ve written about earlier however let’s dig deep and determine how customers feel on how it performed in their homes. If you’re curious here are the most variations, then at a preset time mechanically shuts off therefore the automaton will move to a different space. Second distinction is that the 780 uses bit pad controls whereas the 770 uses physical buttons.

The device function permits you to manage the iRobot Roomba 780 from a distant. Therefore, you’ll consider different chores while at a similar time cleanup the house.

Unlike the Neato robots that have a more predictable pattern, iRobot tends can encounter objects then move in an exceedingly random pattern that may be head-scratching if you watch it but it will a good job in reaching most areas. While there’ll be many lost spots here and there, it’s improved over earlier models. It doesn’t encounter obstacles at full speed instead it slows down so avoiding harm to furniture. Keep in mind to do your half in prepping take away to be cleansed remove all stuff that can get within the means like wires and toys as this isn’t good or nimble enough to navigate around them effortlessly. Keep in mind to own a minimum of 3-feet of house around a 180-degree radius round the charging base to avoid problems once docking. iRobot upgraded the containment system during this model, not like the previous model were the virtual wall acts as a “wall” this one uses a virtual tower that functions additional sort of a door instead of a wall.

Not completely automated – though the Robotic Vacuum will navigate itself around most furniture, time to time it should get stuck in nooks and crannies and odd areas. You will get through to a dead battery and it stuck within the spot. Standard TLC– like a normal vacuum you got to maintain and habitually clean it once every 2 or 3 uses. This includes cleanup the little bristle that collect dirt, habitually empty the dirt from the rubbish bin and rinsing the robot`s air filters.

No Stairs and needs level floors – not able of descending or climbing stairs. Traditional vacuuming are needed. Most Robotic vacuums can need level floors to work. Most models cannot operate on the far side a 30-35 degree slope.

The 780 is the flagship of iRobot’s new top of the road 700 series and core to the present is the upgraded iAdapt navigation system. This monitors the encircling space creating 64 checks per second to both track its manner around objects and to gradually learn the whole layout of its cleaning surroundings. The result’s the 780 will then apply the foremost relevant improvement motion to every space, be it long sweeps, circular motions once detective work dirt serious spots (iRobot calls this ‘Persistent Pass Cleaning’) or free form movement around cluttered or little spaces.

Of these iRobot is keen to worry the ‘Dirt sight Series 2’ technology within the 780. to enhance develop it uses AN acoustic sensing element to sight excessive amounts of little and hard junk (such as sand) and an optical sensor to notice larger and soft junk (such as popcorn). Also new is an ‘AeroVac Series 2’ bag-less bin with simple release (dirt is simply tipped out once removed) and the addition of a common sense full bin indicator. can possible got to empty this a lot of frequently since the 780 has new power management package that iRobot claims will give up to fifty per cent longer battery life than previous generations. As for charge time, it will take a couple of hours for the battery to jazz up totally. (That could also be owing to suit’s having 50 % more capability currently.) Having said that, I’ve never detected a problem, since the 780 makes the arrival station its home once not in use, therefore it perpetually stays charged and prepared. It additionally comes with a far off control — that is ideal for guiding it to a selected spot on the ground or beckoning it to or show it off to friends. The only serious drawback is that the price. That shouldn’t shock anyone, and with the given robotic technology and sensors packed into this, however it will undoubtedly place folks off who don’t want to pay that much on an appliance. However here’s how I see it: If you hate vacuuming as much I do, you may realize the investment worthy, just within the time and irritation you save alone. (The 7-day programing is very handy for this. you’ll set it up therefore you always remember to vacuum, or to figure once you’re not even there.)

Feedback on client service is mostly positive, with iRobot giving a replacement if there are defects. It comes with an annual pledge on the mechanism and 6-months on the battery.
